Huskies rank high but Big Ten teams look overrated

Two Pac-12 teams—Arizona State and UCLA—dropped out of this week’s Volleyball Magazine media poll, replaced by Missouri and BYU. That leaves just three Pac-12 teams in the VBM top 20—and seven Big Ten teams.

Washington stayed at #6, as Michigan State moved ahead of the Huskies, and Hawai’i fell behind.

And, in our humble opinion:

UNDERRATED

• Michigan State: Spartans are only Big Ten team undefeated in conference play
• BYU: Cougars are tearing through a strong conference
• Miami (FL): Keno Gandara’s Hurricanes have not lost in the ACC. Gandara and his team are profiled this week by ESPN.com's Mechelle Voepel

• Purdue: Boilermakers have six losses, including four in Big Ten … including lowly Northwestern.
• Michigan: Wolverines have five losses, four in the Big Ten, and no signature big wins
• Ohio State: After starting 12-0 against so-so nonconference competition, has since lost 4 of 6 Big Ten matches
• Missouri: Tigers get props for being 21-0, but yet to play a single ranked team until Florida this weekend
