Reporters echo coaches’ conclusions

Reporters agreed with coaches that Washington is a better team than both the NCAA tournament committee and the RPI computer judged it to be.

In the December 20, 2012 Volleyball Magazine media poll—the final poll of the season—Washington was ranked ninth. That matches the coaches’ assessment that the Huskies were the best of the eight teams which lost in the Sweet 16.

Several of Washington’s 2012 opponents finished in the Top 20. The Huskies defeated #13 Hawai’i and #16 Purdue; they split with #2 Oregon, #6 USC and #10 UCLA, and lost both matches to #5 Stanford.
