NCAA | Washington seeded #13, will host first two rounds

Washington faces Central Arkansas (30-4); winner faces winner of Santa Clara (20-11)/Hawaii (25-2)

The NCAA Tournament Selection committee, after drawing fire from Pac-12 coaches last season, seeded five conference teams this season, including Stanford (seeded #2), Oregon (#5), USC (#6) UCLA (#7) and Washington (#13).

The Central Arkansas Sugar Bears earned an automatic bid as champions of the Southland Conference. The team went 15-3 in conference play, losing on the road to Texas A&M-Corpus Cristi, at Oral Roberts, and at home to Sam Houston State. It's only nonconference loss was to Missouri State. The Sugar Bears had an RPI of 49 (Washington is 16).

Washington was placed in the Omaha Regional, which also includes seeded teams Oregon, BYU (#12) and Nebraska (#4).

Only the top 16 teams in the 64-team bracket are seeded; those teams host the first two rounds.

Two other Pac-12 teams made the cut: Arizona State is also in the Omaha region, and California is in the Berkeley region.

Tickets for the first two rounds at Alaska Airlines Arena will be on sale this afternoon at gohuskies.com Both reserved and general admission will be sold, all as a two-day package. The Friday matches will be at 5PM and approximately 7PM; Saturday's match will be at 7PM.
