Washington (9-0)
gets one first-place vote and is one of 5 Pac-12 teams in the top 8
Five Pac-12 teams dominate the
weekly coaches’ poll is conducted by the American
Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
Nebraska’s loss to Iowa State
and Texas’ loss to Illinois helped shuffle the deck this week.
Defending national champion UCLA,
whose only loss this season was a narrow five-setter at Nebraska, moved into
first, with undefeated USC on its heels. The two LA rivals meet this Wednesday
in Pac-12 play.
Both UCLA and USC head to
Seattle next week, to meet the undefeated #5 Huskies.
Undefeated Oregon keeps moving
up, but the Ducks must chafe to stay behind Hawai’i, which lost at home to both
UCLA and to an underperforming Cal team.
And, from where we sit, Louisville has conquered enough quality opponents to move ahead of both Hawai’i
and Texas. BYU should be above both Pepperdine and Florida St.
