NCAA | Washington volleyball moves to #2 in national coaches' poll

AVCA poll keeps Penn State #1; 6 Pac-12 teams among top 21

Washington—one of only seven remaining undefeated teams in Division 1—moved to #2 in the weekly AVCA coaches’ poll. The Huskies passed #8 San Diego, which dropped after a 3-0 loss to unranked BYU.

Of the 60 D1 coaches participating in the AVCA poll five voted Washington #1: Penn State’s Russ Rose, California’s Rich Feller, George Mason’s Pat Kendrick, UNC-Greensboro’s Patrick Nicholas and Long Beach State’s Brian Gimmillaro. The lowest ranking for UW came from Marshall University’s (West Virginia) Mitch Jacobs, who rated UW #9.

The coaches still aren’t convinced about Arizona State, a team just one controversial call away from being undefeated.
