Washington Alums on USA Team for Pan Am Games

University of Washington alumni Courtney Thompson and Tama Miyashiro have been named to the USA National Team roster for the upcoming Pan Am Games.

Thompson, a setter from Covington who attended Kentlake High School, was a three-time All-American at Washington. In 2005, she led the Huskies to the national title, and was named the nation's best volleyball player the following season.

Miyashiro, also a three-time All-American, grew up in Kaneohe, Hawaii. She was named national Defensive Player of the Year in 2008, and finished her UW career in 2009 with the second-most career digs in Pac-10 history.

Both Thompson and Miyashiro have been on the USA National Team roster since their respective graduations. Each has played in multiple international competitions, and both will be trying to earn a spot on next year's US Olympic Team for the London Olympics.
