Huskies remain #5 in
coaches poll, #6 in media poll
After three season-openings, including a 5-set nailbiter,
the Washington Huskies maintained their poll positions among both coaches and
media.
In the AVCA coaches’ poll, former #1 Texas moved behind
Washington after the Longhorns lost to #9 Hawai’i. Minnesota jumped ahead of
the Huskies after four three-set sweeps against Jacksonville St, UAB, Georgia
St and Samford.
#14 San Diego was the big winner this week after beating #11
Hawai’i and barely losing to Texas. Both matches were in front of huge crowds
in Honolulu.
Volleyblog Seattle is one of 10 national voters in the
Volleyball Magazine media poll. In our humble opinion:
- underrated: Arizona St, Wichita St, Creighton
- overrated: Oregon, Nebraska, Michigan St, Kentucky, Ohio St, BYU
