How the Top 20 fared: Sunday, November 13, 2011

For the second time in three weeks, the top three teams all lost (last time, the top five all lost.) Does that mean USC will get a long-overdue shot at #1 this season?

A tough Sunday for ranked teams down south. #17 Florida State’s bid to become the first ACC team ever to go 17-0 was snapped in 5 sets by unranked Duke. The Seminoles barely escaped the night before, also in five sets. #15 Tennessee, #18 Kentucky and #19 Florida also went five, and each won by a sliver (check out their scores.)

In my book, #11 Washington should move to #10, and #9 Penn State drops to #11. I’d also move #10 Purdue ahead of both #6 Hawai’i and #8 Texas.
