Pac-12 takes 4 of 5 top spots in coaches' poll

The Pac-12 continues to dominate the weekly American Volleyball CoachesAssociation poll. Conference teams claimed four of the top five spots, with Nebraska clinging to #2 after a shaky week on and off the court.
It took yet another Illinois loss for the last few holdouts to stop voting the Illini #1. But Purdue beats Illinois and Purdue has a better record than Illinois, yet Purdue is three spots lower than Illinois?
Voters punished Penn State a little bit more for its loss to unranked Wisconsin. Considering that Washington’s only losses are to ranked teams, and that the Huskies and Nittany Lions have the same record, isn’t there a good argument that Washington should be rated ahead of Penn State?
Nice record, Hawai’i … too bad your conference opponents never appear in the rankings. Texas carries a similar asterisk, even with Iowa State and Oklahoma getting a few stray votes.
