Washington
(16-1) slides three spots after first loss of season; Pac-12 again claims 5 of
top 7 spots
For the fourth week in a row, five Pac-12 teams are among the top eight in the weekly coaches’ poll is conducted by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
For Huskies’ fans, the only real
question is whether Washington’s
lone loss to #3 Oregon justifies
ranking them behind Nebraska (with
losses to #1 Penn State and #22 Iowa State, plus a recent narrow escape
against lowly Indiana).
There’s not too many surprises
this week, since teams that lost were defeated by other highly-ranked teams. We
still think BYU is ranked too low;
ditto for Miami (FL) and Kansas State. We love the State of Hawai’i, but we think voters give them
too much love until they face a top team on the road.
And, voters: can we get real
about Illinois? How can you justify
putting a 9-9 team in the Top 25?

Wow, you don't even need a winning record to get on this list. Kinda shows you that this poll is really not that important. No other team in the USA has a better record then 9-9? No matter how many games Nebraska loses they'll never be out of the top 5. Really?
