Washington (13-0)
gets five first-place votes and; ties with Oregon (13-0) for second spot.

- Penn State stays at number one, on the strength of a string of wins against other ranked teams (they’ve defeated #4 Nebraska, #7 Stanford, #9 Texas, #10 Minnesota and #17 Louisville.) Those wins allow coaches to overlook the Nittany Lions’ lone loss, to unranked Oregon State, a team that Oregon defeated handily, and that Washington will play next week.
- Oregon and Washington
are the only two remaining undefeated teams in Division 1. Oregon got more
first place votes (13-5), but enough coaches ranked Washington ahead of the
Ducks otherwise to pull the teams into a rare tie, considering there were 60
voters this week.
Last season, Washington rose to number two before losing to Stanford. - Despite the Pac-12 domination at the top of the polls, teams like Oregon State (12-4) and Arizona State (13-4) have to wonder nonetheless how Ohio State (11-5), Illinois (8-6) and Pepperdine (10-6) rank ahead of them. Pepperdine, in particular, lost both its matches this week to unranked teams. (St. Mary's and Santa Clara)
