VIDEO | Jim McLaughlin talks about serving with no setter

QUICK SET with Coach Jim McLaughlin for the week of October 1, 2012

The more you know about the how and why of volleyball, the more fun it is to watch and play.

In a Volleyblog Seattle exclusive video, Washington Coach Jim McLaughlin sits down for a conversation about why he’s willing to take the risk of swapping a setter for a server.

“You’re not worried about the status quo, or what’s normal,” says McLaughlin. “You’re gonna do what you can do to really help this team score at a higher level.

Watch, too, as McLaughlin talks about the selection of middle blocker Amanda Gil as Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, and outside hitter Krista Vansant as AVCA/Sports Imports national Player of the Week.

  1. Great interview Jack. There is no volleyball coach as good as Jim. Thanks for sharing this.
